We have a limited number of fees to be payable to creatives who are successful in their submission. Please read through the 'General Guidelines' and your chosen genre guideline carefully before submitting.

 

We are inviting filmed content  in the genres of Artists, Cabaret, Comedy, Food & Drink, Literature, Music & Spoken word for consideration by our decision making panel. 

Submissions can be made of raw footage, edited standalone pieces or proposals. Please ensure all run times and minimum quality and standards are met as outlined in these guidelines. Submissions not meeting eligibility, criteria and standards will not be accepted for consideration.

Artists  ..................

Artists are invited to submit hi-res photographed images of their work, for consideration for inclusion in a Southside Fringe online gallery. Please see ‘Submission Standards’ for details on file type, quality and sizes expected.  Art works can be of any theme or subject and can be photography, paintings or sculpted pieces.

 

Tiers

Final pieces for online display will be chosen and there are two tiers you can apply for. To have one piece exhibited online, a fee of £20 is payable to successfully chosen artists, or to be considered as a featured artists with 3-5 pieces in our online gallery and a short filmed piece talking about and promoting your work, appx 5 mins, we have a fee of £100.

 

Showcase or Sell?

 If artists only want to showcase their work via our highly subscribed platforms, there is an option in the form for this, we also offer, and encourage the option to sell your work via this platform. If this option is chosen, Southside Fringe will take a 10% fee from any works sold.

 

Successful applicants will be notified by 28th December 2020, with final photographed submissions to be submitted by the 6th February 2020.

 

Cabaret  ..................

We are inviting pre-recorded filmed submissions of your act/s. The weird, the wonderful and the otherworldly are warmly welcomed in this category. Maybe you have a set pre-recorded in a Southside venue that you want the world to see? Are there a few new magic tricks up your sleeve, or are your tassels tingling to perform? We can also offer filming support if needed.

 

Tiers

There are two tiers you can apply for, a one act set of appx 5-10 mins, with a fee of £40 payable for successful submissions. Or if you feel your material is headline quality, submit a 30 min set for a fee of £100 for successful submissions.

 

All minimum recording standards are set out in this guide. If you can’t provide high quality pre-recorded material, we can provide a venue and film team to capture your set, giving you a resource to use for your own promotion and income generation. You can tell us what you propose for content in the form and link in examples to give us an idea of your work. Please see ‘Filming & Editing Support’ for further details and conditions.

Comedy  ..................

We are inviting pre-recorded filmed submissions of a stand up set or sketch. Perhaps you want to trial some new material before going back out in front of a live audience? Maybe you have a set pre-recorded in a Southside venue that you love and want the world to se. We can also offer filming support if needed.

 

Tiers

There are two tiers you can apply for, a 10-15 minute set with a fee of £40 for successful submissions. Or got what it takes to be a headliner? Submit a 30 minute set, with a fee of £100 for successful submissions.

Food & Drink  ..................

Are you a chef in a Southside venue? We invite you to submit a pre-recorded video of you cooking up one of your venues favourite recipes or signature dishes. Are you cocktail heroes, who want to shake up your house drinks? Previously registered Southside Fringe Venues are eligible to apply. We can also offer filming support if needed.

 

Tiers

Videos have to be no longer than 15 mins in length and there will be a fee of £40 payable to chefs who’s submissions are successful. Are you a foodie fanatic? Does your venue have a number of amazing recipes, dishes or specialities you can capture us with? We also invite 30-45 min videos from headline chefs who want to highlight their venue and dishes. Successful submissions in this category will receive a fee of £100.

If you can’t provide high quality pre-recorded material for either tier, we can provide a film team to come to your venue and film you making your recipes,  giving your venue a resource to use for your own promotion and income generation. Literature ..................

We are looking to attract published authors to this aspect of the programme. With a two tier application option.

 

Tiers

If you would like to focus on one of your published works, you can submit a 10 minute pre-recorded video telling the world about your work, what were your motivations and inspirations for writing the book, who are the characters, are they drawn from real life? Why should we be reading your book? Where can we buy your book? Successful 10 minute submissions will receive a fee of £30. If you have a number of published titles under your belt and feel sharing your processes, inspirations and motivations could help aspiring writers out there, or can you capture us and our imaginations with your books and stories within, can you tell us about this in a pre-recorded video for 30 mins? We have a fee of £100 for successful submissions from headline authors.

Music ..................

We are inviting pre-recorded filmed submissions of you or your band playing original songs. Sorry covers can’t be accepted. Perhaps you want to trial some new tunes before going back out in front of a live audience? Maybe you have a set pre-recorded in a venue that you love and want the world to see?

 

Tiers

There are two tiers you can apply for, a set of 3 songs (appx 10-15 mins), with a fee of £50 for successful submissions. Or if you feel your band or music is headline quality, submit a 30 min set for a fee of £100 for successful submissions.

 

All minimum recording standards are set out in this guide. If you can’t provide high quality pre-recorded material, we can provide a venue and film team to capture your set, giving you a resource to use for your own promotion and income generation. We are inviting pre-recorded filmed submissions of a set of original spoken word material. Perhaps you want to trial some new material before going back out in front of a live audience? Maybe you have a hi quality set pre-recorded from the comfort of your living room that the world needs to see?
