We’re back for our seventh successful year. Southside Fringe Festival is happening between the 10th and 26th of May 2019! Get it in your diaries now.

There are a lot of great benefits of being part of the Fringe Family of venues. These benefits include a minimum of 12 posts per year on the Fringe social media. However, we do tend to post more than this for each venue. Your venue gets listed on our website year round and each of our venues gets a listing in our printed programme. More you ask? You also get discounts on adverts and when they launch you will also get discounts for listing in our What's On Guide and for advertorials. Even more, you say? You get to join in on the fun in May alongside a number of other Southside venues, event organisers, performers and the Fringe Family! What more do we need that an excuse to have a lot of Southside fun? You can find out more about the benefits of becoming a Southside Fringe venue here.

Thanks to the good hearts of the Southside creative community, the venues and a heap of hard work from our volunteers the Southside Fringe has been a self-funded arts and music festival, run entirely by volunteers since 2013. Since then the festival has gone from strength to strength with over 100 events in over 30 Southside Venues in 2018. Did you know that we took home the Best Scottish Festival award at the 2017 Scottish Hospitality Awards and in 2018 we won Highly Commended in the same category? In 2016 and 2017, with the support of local MP Stewart McDonald, we were commended in Westminster with an additional third mention in 2017 for the partnership production the festival coordinated with Baldy Bane Theatre Company, St Albert’s Primary School and the Tramway, working with Syrian families and exploring what it means to call home.

This year things have changed slightly and we have become a Community Interest Company. This means that we have more time to dedicate to the Fringe festival and work on some exciting new projects for 2019! Keep your eyes peeled for more info on this coming your way soon. The team can’t wait to see what Southside treasures 2019 will reveal.

The only criteria you need to be in the Fringe Family of venues is to be based South of the Clyde. We love the quirky and unusual, from exhibitions in auld steamies to fashion shows in swimming pools, from dog shows for dogs to literary readings in campervans. And we love you all, from bars, restaurants, cafes to shops, swimming pools, pop-ups to local parks. Let them know what you have to offer and register to host an event in 2019.

We’re delighted to announce that we are now launching our Venue registrations for the 2019 festival, you can sign up here. There's a short online form and a small sign-up fee, the form ensures that we have all the correct details to promote you in our programme, on our website and via social media and the sign-up fee helps to pay for the printed programmes that go out every year.

The Venue registration fees have been frozen for the 6th year running. We love that some venues, for example, cafes and shops, would like to be part of the Southside Fringe Festival and be part of the community investment but perhaps don’t have the capacity to host many people or events. So we have also kept the third registration tier that was introduced last year to make it a more affordable option for registering your venue. Only events held in registered Fringe venues can be included in the 2019 programme listings. We distribute printed programmes on the Southside and also Citywide to promote the vibrant Southside community and the creative industries. Registering your venue early will ensure that your venue is listed on the event registration forms when they are launched.
